Making decreases in knitting

Step 1
DECREASE TO THE LEFT: Slip the first two stitches onto the right-hand needle without knitting them.

Step 2
Insert the left-hand needle into the two slipped stitches.

Step 3
Knit the two stitches together and let go.

Step 4
DECREASE TO THE RIGHT: Insert the right-hand needle into the next two stitches at the same time.

Step 5
Knit them together and let go.
